Well… it happened. We’re here again - in the red. We can’t eat inside restaurants, enjoy the company of friends at bars, or be graced with the gift of in-person live music of any kind. So many people are hurting right now, and the music community is one of the top industries when it comes to lost income due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. The local scene and independent venues have been especially hard, as many don’t have a security fund to fall back on. Local venue owners, full-time musicians, stage hands, lighting designers, sound engineers, and others involved behind the scenes have likely put everything they’ve got into the role they love. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t support your friends who are musicians or who work behind the scenes in the industry. Here’s how:

Today, Silver And Smoke announced the complete lineup for their first ever headline appearance at The Bluebird Theatre, slated for January 2, 2020.

The lineup gained two female-fronted Denver powerhouse bands: Mlady and SolSatellite. Indie/Dreamy Pop Mlady and Nu-Soul Funk SolSatellite join direct support Two Faces West in this celebration of local music.

I founded Sonder Music Management because I believe so much in Colorado music - not just as a blip in history, but as a movement that is truly making waves, and changing the landscape in more ways than one. It’s becoming widely accepted that Colorado, and Denver specifically, will emerge on the map in 2020 to compete on the national level with music cities like Nashville, Chicago, New York, and L.A. 

Music is connection. Music is community. Music is a story. That being said, I have been thinking for a while that I really want to tell the story of local Colorado music, but I can’t do it on my own. So, I plan to talk with those making the music in Denver, Fort Collins, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Durango, and every town in between. 

There are always so many concerts to choose from in Colorado! No matter where you are - Denver, one of our many beautiful Colorado mountain towns, Fort Collins, Greeley, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, or anywhere in between - there’s no shortage of live music. Here at Sonder, we love local - and while you can see lots of National acts rolling through, we like to focus on those musical cats that are from our great state of Colorado. Here are our local Colorado concert picks for November 1-3, 2019.

When the now very popular Open Mic Night was established at The Alley in Historic Downtown Littleton a few years ago, Hannah Diones was one of the first consistent performers. It wasn’t long before people started coming to Open Mic just to hear Hannah sing. She wrote incredibly compelling, beautiful, and relatable songs and delivered them with a voice that’s one-in-a-million. Despite her young age, Hannah was already writing beautifully haunting and mature material, and everyone who knew her, myself included, considered her a friend and an inspiration. She’s an old soul, and so easy to connect with.

Today, Float Like a Buffalo Announced their latest Single Release Party, set for January 3, 2020 at The Bluebird Theatre. This will be the band’s first headline appearance at the iconic room.

The other day, I was wandering around O'Toole's Garden Center, as I sometimes do when I need time to think. There’s something about the long aisles of flowers, plants, and trees that brings me a sense of true calm and helps me get myself back in order.
